In practice both riders had the track dialed and were ready for race day.
Race Day started well with Edvards dominating his first moto winning it with a solid lead. Airisa was in the mix for a transfer spot when she crashed in turn 1 ending her Youth Olympics early with a broken arm. Disaster for Team Latvia as this was a mixed event counting results of male and female athletes together for the final ranking.
Edvards didn’t let his head down and easily qualified for the Main event in which he took the hole shot from the outside leading the pack from start to finish giving him the win in the Men’s BMX Event.
Sadly team Latvia just missed out on the podium ending in 4th place just a few points away from the bronze medal.
The Team is proud of our rider’s performance and looking forward to his 2019 season in Junior Men.
